The Caterham team has everything in place for their planned move of headquarters this summer, as the entire Caterham Group will relocate from Norfolk to Leafield.
During the monthly long break, starting monday, Caterham will begin their planned relocation of their entire headquarters. For starters, the F1 and GP2 will begin the move and it includes around 200 people, just for those two teams. Then the Caterham road car team will follow.
The new headquarters was once used by Super Aguri, who took over from Arrows. The reason for the move has to do with geography and of course, space, as technical director Mark Smith explains.
“It was undeniable that geography may have prevented us from expanding at quite the rate we want to,” Smith admits. “Now Leafield is open, we have no barriers. We have an aggressive employment plan in place that will help us keep moving up the grid.”
Leafield is a relatively small village, located in the Cotswold Hills, and is home to about 800 residents.
