Fernando Alonso has responded to the critic surrounding him, coming from Red Bull´s advisor Dr Helmut Marko, who recently made claims that the 2005 and 2006 world champion is too political.
The comments apparently had to do with how Fernando Alonso had repeated several times, that his main rival last year, and this year as well, is former team mate Lewis Hamilton. That did not go down well with the good doctor, who believed that Alonso was too involved in mindgames, such as commenting about what a good driver Hamilton is, and not mentioning Sebastian Vettel, the three time world champion, at all.
Alonso also said that he did not care what Marko said. His comments are his personal views and he stands by them. Good boy Alonso. The thing is that Marko repeats his claims, that Vettel is the focused one and Alonso cannot be determined enough to concentrate on the 2012 championship, because he made “funny comments”, but several sources now believe that Marko´s comments has a deeper meaning.
Apparently Red Bull was very interested in pairing Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso, this is perhaps not such a big secret, as the rumour mills are in full swing almost the entire season. But same sources strongly suggests that an offer was put on the table to get Alonso, which he duly turned down.
If this has any truth, then Red Bull is now suddenly in a new position. The bully. Winning a title gives you bragging rights, that´s how the world works, so deal with it. Winning three and you should try to curb the enthusiasm when winking over at the trophies on the wall. Winning three titles and pointing fingers at other drivers from otehr teams because you couldn´t sign him, is astoundingly bad judgement.
Win a title, brag about it, celebrate, end. But don´t behave like the little boy, bitching about the older boys in class, when you started the trouble.
