My name is Jakob Schmidt, and I started writing about Formula One online in 2006. My love affair with Formula One however, is much longer. I am born in 1972, lives and works in Denmark and after a couple of years building a small fan-base on Facebook, I am now committed only to blog here on WordPress.
I am a professional banker of trade, but quickly learned that I wouldn´t become the next Gordon Gekko. Instead I have been working as a professional retailer, most recently in luxury mens wear in Denmark, for the past three years.
My interest for Formula One started when I was 6-7 years old and I never could get my head around how the cars could drive so fast. Oddly, I never wanted to become a Formula One driver myself, but I have always been attracted to the glamour and the speed.
After having spend three years as a freelance columnist for Bilmagasinet.dk, the largest carmagazine in Denmark, who ran a website dedicated to F1, I found that I was restricted rather than encouraged, I set up a page on Facebook, now I´m my own boss.
Being a columnist/writer, is strictly freelance and just for the fun of it.
